Chants of the Resurrectional Octoechos edited by O. Tarasenko

The collection Chants of the Resurrectional Octoechos includes hymns of Ukrainian church octoechos arranged, harmonized, and edited by Oleksandr Tarasenko, as well as the unchanging hymns of the All-Night Vigil. Alongside widely known and traditional hymns of the universal tradition, this collection features only those specific to the Kyiv church singing tradition. These include, in particular, the Kyivan and Kyivan-Pechersk—forgotten yet beautiful examples of Znamenny and Greek melodies, which form the basis of Ukrainian liturgical singing.
